Training And Fellowship Programs

Tirupati Eye Centre runs its training and fellowship programs for the past 10 years. It is an institute of international acclaim for surgical training and fellowships. Till date more than 200 national and international trainees have been trained successfully in phacoemulsification, vitreoretina, LASIK, medical retina and research at Tirupati Eye Centre.

1. Phacoemulsification & research, Phacorefractive & Research

Duration: 1.5 years

2. International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Fellowship Phacoemulsification & Research

Duration: 3 months

Trainings offered: -

Phacoemulsification training
Duration: 20- 45 days

Highlights of training:

• Operation theatre complex having 3 operating rooms
• One to one teaching under expert supervision
• Recording of all surgeries and discussion on recorded cases by consultants to refine each step (for phacoemulsification training)
• High end microscopes- Carl Zeiss
• High end phacoemulsification and LASIK machines- Stellaris Bauch & Lomb, Bausch & Lomb, Teneo 2 317 and hansatome
• Teaching in the form of lectures and discussions
• Airport pick up and drop facility for international trainees
• Air-conditioned hospital
• Weekend tours and sightseeing

The training includes:

• Preoperative investigations (corneal topography, ocular surface and biometry in details) and planning
• Case discussions
• Phacoemulsification machine orientation
• Hands on training
• Post-operative management of patients
• Lectures on phacoemulsification procedures and complication management
• Review of your operated cases on videos

Short term Lasik Training: - (3-7 days)

The training Includes:

• Preoperative investigations (corneal topography and aberrometry in details) and planning
• Case discussions
• Laser machine orientation
• Keratome orientation
• Hands on training
• Follow up of patients and complication management
• How to counsel patients and market yourself for refractive practice
